TheLas Vegas Raidersspent a first-round pick inthe 2025 NFL Drafton Boise State running backAshton Jeanty. Their first order of business with the No. 6 overall selection? Getting him to adopt a new backfield stance. Jeanty has long used an unorthodox stance that sees him remain upright at the start of each play. The practice has earned the star running back comparisons to Michael Myers, the serial killer antagonist in the "Halloween" movie franchise. But Jeanty has been receptive to making changes, as he detailed to Kay Adams in an appearanceon her "Up and Adams" show with FanDuel TV. "You know, sometimes you gotta, you know, go with the flow," Jeanty explained. ASHTON JEANTY:Rookie discusses Boise State CFP run, NFL draft, goals for season The process of Jeanty changing his stance began during a conversation with newRaidersoffensive coordinator Chip Kelly on the first day of rookie minicamp. "He's like, 'You play basketball? You ever play basketball?'" Jeanty detailed. "And I'm like, 'Yeah, I play basketball, you know I can dunk and all that.' He's like, 'OK, show me how you would guard me,' and he's acting like he's holding the ball." Jeanty proceeded to mime how he would guard Kelly in front of him. "That's exactly why you have to be down in your running back stance," the veteran coach responded. As such, Jeanty conceded to Adams that Kelly has "won for now," so the 21-year-old will look to change his pre-play approach during his rookie season. That said, the Boise State product isn't entirely closing the book on his iconic stance. "I'm going to try and persuade him one day," Jeanty said. "I got to earn my stripes and make some plays first, but I don't think it's going to be the end." Wayne Gretzky visited Stars locker room after they advanced to West final rematch with OilersNew Foto - Wayne Gretzky visited Stars locker room after they advanced to West final rematch with Oilers

DALLAS (AP) — Wayne Gretzky wasin the Dallas Stars locker roomcongratulating them after they advanced to their third consecutive Western Conference final, where they will face the franchise with which "The Great One" was a four-time Stanley Cup champion. "He said we're going up against a pretty good team now," Stars captain Jamie Benn said Tuesday, the day before hosting Game 1 against Edmonton. "And I had to ask him who he was cheering for. It felt right, and he didn't answer, obviously." Benn said it was "pretty cool" that Gretzky visited the Stars after their2-1 overtime winSaturday night over Winnipeg that set up a West final rematch against the Oilers. Edmonton won the West final over the Stars in six games last year, then lost to Florida in a seven-game Stanley Cup Finals. "What a great honor to have the greatest player of all time come down after the game and say hello," Stars coach Pete DeBoer said. Gretzky told the Starshe had so much fun watching them play, and that they were now going to play "one of the greatest teams ever." DeBoer was on the coaching staff for Canada for the team's 4 Nations Face-Off title earlier this year, and during that period got to spend some time with Gretzky. "Extra special. That's my era. That's the guy we all grew up watching," DeBoer said. "He's a special guy when you get him 1-on-1 or in a coach's room or behind the scenes. You can see his passion for the game. He can sit and talk hockey and tell stories all night." Gretzky was part of four Stanley Cup titles in a five-season span in the 1980s with Edmonton. He was the NHL career-leading goal scorer with 894 goals untilAlex Ovechkin passed himon April 6, but still has the most points (2,857) and assists (1,963). So when meeting the Stars and DeBoer, did Gretzky say anything that would create headlines in Edmonton, like saying he was hoping Dallas would win? "He didn't. He would never say that and I would never put him in that spot," DeBoer said. "He was very respectful of our group and the job we'd done to that point. I think we all understand his allegiance to Edmonton and appreciate that, so he never went beyond that." ___ AP NHL playoffs:https://apnews.com/hub/stanley-cupandhttps://apnews.com/hub/nhl

Man United gets boost ahead of Europa League final against Tottenham as 3 players returnNew Foto - Man United gets boost ahead of Europa League final against Tottenham as 3 players return

BILBAO, Spain (AP) — Manchester United will have a trio of players back from injury for the Europa League final against Tottenham, coach Ruben Amorim said Tuesday, with Diogo Dalot, Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee all available to come off the bench. All three players took part in training on Tuesday and could play at least a few minutes if needed. "Very good for us," Amorim said. "Of course, they are limited in the minutes for the game but they can help us win the game." Matthijs de Ligt will not be available but traveled to Bilbao to support his teammates. Lisandro Martinez is the only other first-team player not available as he remains out with a serious knee injury. The return of Zirkzee was the biggest surprise as he had initially been ruled out for the season because of a hamstring injury he picked up in April. "Me neither," Amorim said when told nobody expected the forward's return. "They recover quite well. They push, of course, and we have to respect the feeling of the player but we push a little bit, as they wanted to be part of the team. That is a very good sign." Dalot was nursing a calf injury since April, and Yoro had been out since earlier this month. United has had a dismal season but is hoping to finish it with a European title. The club is in 16th place in the league standings after 18 defeats, its most in a single campaign since the Premier League began in 1992. It is also certain to register itsworst-ever points totalin that era, as well as its lowest finish. Tottenham injuries Tottenham coach Ange Postecoglou said midfielder Lucas Bergvall has not recovered from an ankle injury in time for the final. He was with the squad in Bilbao but won't play. Midfielder Pape Sarr will be available despite not finishing the league match against Aston Villa on Friday because of a back issue. Tottenham is in 17th place in the Premier League, having lost 21 times — also a club record in the modern era. The Champions League runner-up in 2019, Tottenham is seeking its first trophy since the 2008 English League Cup. ___ AP soccer:https://apnews.com/hub/soccer

Cowboys OK with Micah Parsons being 'in and out' of OTAsNew Foto - Cowboys OK with Micah Parsons being 'in and out' of OTAs

Dallas Cowboys pass rusher Micah Parsons was not on the field with teammates on Tuesday as part of what head coach Brian Schottenheimer described as "in and out" attendance expected during organized team activities. Parsons, who was present Monday, is angling for a new contract one year after Dallas went through training camp before negotiating long-term extensions with wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and quarterback Dak Prescott. Schottenheimer said Tuesday that Prescott is able to participate in first-team reps during OTAs, a sign he's considered fully healed from a torn hamstring, the injury that ended his 2024 season and required surgery. Parsons was permitted to work out largely on his own in the offseason under previous head coach Mike McCarthy. With more than two months between current OTA work and training camp, Schottenheimer said "it means a lot to me" to have Parsons present when he's able. Parsons participated in Monday's group workout and team meetings. Under first-time head coach Schottenheimer, Dallas began working through installation of new defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus' scheme in April with Parsons in attendance. The All-Pro pass rusher is said to be seeking a $200 million deal that would set an NFL record for a non-quarterback. Parsons, 25, recorded 12 sacks, 43 tackles and two forced fumbles in 13 games (all starts) last season. A Pro Bowl selection in each of his first four seasons in the league, Parsons has totaled 256 tackles (63 for loss), 112 quarterback hits, 52.5 sacks, nine forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries in 63 career games (all starts). Without a new deal this offseason, Parsons is in line to earn approximately $24 million on the fifth year of his rookie contract in 2025. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said earlier this month that the two sides are in agreement on "most of the issues." Back in December, Parsons discussed the importance of attending workouts, minicamps and training camp. "I've got to be around the guys," he said. "There's going to be rookies, there's going to be free agents -- guys that come here -- you don't know who's going to be there, so there's a chemistry part and people know what you can do, but people also got to see it from a leader aspect. So I still gotta be there for that part." --Field Level Media
